 The
Early Childhood Council of the San Luis Valley is involved in a variety
of programs. These programs are in place to enrich the
lives of children across our area. The Early Childhood Council of the
San Luis Valley is one of the 17 child care pilot projects in the State
of Colorado and we are a Qualistar® partner.
Through our Qualistar® Early Learning Partnership we provide:
- Consumer
educaion
- Child
care referrals to parents
- Training
to child care providers
- Quality
improvement funding and opportunities for child care providers

The goal of this project is to increase the quality of early childhood programs
by increasing the education levels of early childhood teachers.
This project provides:
• Scholarships
to early childhood teachers working in licensed programs for college coursework
• Cash
bonuses to teachers for receiving their Colorado Early Childhood Credentials
• Counseling
and assistance in enrolling in college coursework.

The goal of this project is to increase children's school readiness by improving
the quality of the early childhood programs they attend. Programs eligible for
this project must be located in school districts where the elementary schools
are rated as low performing.
This Project provides:
• Qualistar
ratings to participating programs.
• Coaches
to classroom teachers
• Equipment
purchases
• High
quality workshop training for early childhood teachers and directors
